Guided Learning Virtual Studio Resources

I created a virtual studio page with links to online math tools and links to some our favorite recently read books. It thought it would be useful to share some of these resources with you given the current uncertainty regarding the reopening of schools. I have been using the following math apps with my kids and students: Geogebra, Desmos and Mathigon.

There is also a link to our favorite summer “learning” activity, the Math Art Challenge posted by Annie Perkins. We have spent time together making many wonderful math art projects. Please check out the challenges!

We love the books listed by the Project Lit Community. The list includes books for both middle grades and young adult books. My daughter and I loved, “I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter” by Erika Sanchez and many others from the 2019 and 2020 list.

Wishing you health and peace in these uncertain time.

Hi, I am Maria, a mom to three wonderful kiddos. My family and I live in Phoenix, Arizona. We love the beauty of the desert southwest. I am a former primary teacher and elementary mathematics coach. For the last several years, I have focused on encouraging my children to follow their interests and passions. I believe the learning environment plays a key role in our experience in school and at home. It is as important as what and how we teach. We have the ability to create an environment that encourages imagination, creativity, and independence. Guided Learning Studio is a home based studio where I offer tutoring, enrichment classes and help learners follow their interests and passions.
